Select & edit fragments

Name pieces, target a selected region and distinguish fragment deletion from cut deletion.

English guideSource: Unity 6000.3.13f1 · Optional Jobs / BurstWeb edition · 21 October 2026

Select and name a piece#

Generate the layout, then select a row in Fragments. Alternatively, enable Select fragments on canvas and click a region. Edit Fragment name to give that logical piece a useful name.

Use Cut selected part only when the next operation should apply to that piece rather than all relevant geometry.

Delete a fragment or delete a cut#

ActionWhat it changes
Delete fragmentExcludes a selected generated region.
Restore deletedRe-enables excluded regions without redrawing their cuts.
Authored operation → Delete cutRemoves the chosen operation from the authoring recipe.
Undo / RedoRevisits authoring edits.
Clear allClears the authored operations through the editor controls.

Deleting a fragment and deleting its originating cut are different edits. Choose the action based on whether you want to hide a region or change how the source is partitioned.

Inspect authored operations#

The supplied data capture exposes the saved operations. Author and edit cuts in the Manual Slice Editor; use this Inspector view to understand the stored result.

An operation describes the authored cut. Fragment overrides hold per-piece choices such as the display name or deleted state.

The supplied overrides capture shows separate named logical fragments.

Review before saving#

Regenerate after editing the recipe, inspect the status and fragment count, and use Colliders preview to compare collision geometry with the artwork. Close or cancel any open polygon draft before saving.

Continue with saved data and geometry limits, or export the generated pieces.
