Connect clock daylight to layer tint and optional camera background color. Each layer can control how strongly it receives the environment tint.
Author the gradients#
- Enable Day & Night and Environment Colours. Confirm Manager/Clock belong to the same environment.
- Add Ambient Gradient keys: zero/one midnight, 0.25 morning, 0.5 noon and 0.75 evening.
- Configure Sky Gradient and enable Tint Sky for camera background color.
- Keep Ambient Multiplier white to preserve gradient colors; other colors multiply them.
- Try Tint Smoothing five and scrub time. Reduce Environment Tint Weight for independently colored layers.
Dark blue midnight, warm sunrise, neutral noon and orange/pink sunset are a starting recipe. Matching endpoint colors avoids a midnight seam.
Understand sky visibility#
Tint Sky writes camera.backgroundColor. A fullscreen sky sprite can cover it, so tint that sprite through its layer or a separate authored controller when needed.
Verify the result#
Check Hour 0/6/12/18. If output remains dark with a white multiplier and layer weight one, inspect authored sprite tint/alpha. Confirm reference ownership when multiple environments or independent cloud/fog tint controllers exist.
