Wind applies rotational sway to explicitly assigned visual children. It does not deform meshes or automatically drive physics.
Assign bendable visuals#
- Enable Wind; start around Strength
0.5, Direction(1,0), Speed one and Gust Intensity0.5. - Put grass/tree artwork on a visual child of the layer root with a suitable pivot.
- Add a Targets entry and assign the child Transform. Set multiplier and Bend Degrees, for example three.
- Test Strength zero/one, then tune the layer's Wind Multiplier.
An empty Targets list, as in the supplied reference, means no wind-bent visuals have been assigned yet.
| Control | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Strength | Base amount; zero removes bending. |
| Direction | Normalized X controls bend direction; (0,1) produces no X bending. |
| Speed | Sway/gust phase rate; zero freezes phase. |
| Gust Intensity | Periodic strength variation; zero gives steady base strength. |
| Targets | Visual, per-target multiplier and bend angle. Layer-root targets are skipped. |
Check ownership and looping#
Disabling wind restores baseline rotation. Infinite scrolling does not clone tile child hierarchies, so source-child sway does not automatically create swaying children on every generated tile. Use a setup suited to your intended repeated visuals.
