Open the Softbody Creator#
Choose Tools → ERAGANX → Softbody 2D → Softbody Creator in Unity.
The supplied menu capture also shows a demo-creation command. Use Softbody Creator to build your own body.
Create and test a body#
- Assign the prepared Source Sprite.
- Choose a Profile, such as Jelly, as your starting point.
- Set Shape Recovery, recovery strength/damping, rotation lock and perimeter collider options for the behavior you need. Enable Trigger Mode only when you want boundary sensing.
- Click Create Soft Body.
- Place the generated object above a floor with a
Collider2Dand press Play.
The preview and values are from the supplied Creator capture. They are example authoring settings.
The Creator builds a root with SoftBody2D, generated physics nodes, colliders and a mesh renderer. Inspect the generated body as you tune it, then save the whole generated hierarchy as a prefab.
Inspect the generated body#
The supplied Inspector groups the body into Feel, Recovery, Rotation, Collision, Shape and Impact settings. Start with the profile controls, then change one setting at a time so its effect stays clear.
The Impact fields remain visible for compatibility. The guide states that these fields currently do not add an extra impact kick; see contacts and impacts.
Regenerate after authoring changes#
Rebuild after changing the source shape or physical quality settings. Use the Inspector's Regenerate control, or call Generate(out string error) from code and inspect the returned error information when generation fails.
The supplied detail capture shows the rebuild and reset controls below the advanced settings.
Regeneration builds the body again. Reset Shape returns an existing body to its authored root pose and clears motion. Use the runtime reference to choose the appropriate operation; avoid regenerating every frame.
