Check the setup first#
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Generation fails | One closed, connected, non-zero-area Sprite Physics Shape; no holes, islands or crossing edges. Inspect the error from Generate(out string error). |
| Body behaves unexpectedly after a shape change | Regenerate after changing the source outline or physical quality. Set parenting and positive planar scale before generation. |
| Prefab loses its generated structure | Save the root and all generated children together. |
| Drag does not select or move the intended body | Assign the controller's camera or use MainCamera; check world-space pointer conversion and unique active pointer IDs. |
| Drag remains active after input is disabled | Call ReleaseAll() on the controller when disabling the input layer. |
| Trigger does not report objects fully inside the body | The trigger colliders sense the perimeter; they are not a filled interior volume. |
| Impact sliders appear to add no extra kick | The guide marks these as compatibility fields; Physics 2D contacts provide collision response. Use explicit force APIs for a gameplay force. |
| Scene becomes expensive with many bodies | Compare lower node counts, contact counts and active-body counts on the target device. |
Simulation limits#
This is a physics-driven deformable solid approximation, rather than a fluid or finite-element simulation. Stacking is approximate. Extreme speeds, deep initial overlap, narrow obstacles, severe concavity and self-intersection can destabilize a perimeter simulation.
Start bodies with free space around them. Use supported shapes and compare profile settings before adding more interacting bodies. Visual Smoothness adds render detail without adding physical constraints.
Before saving your prefab#
- Prepare one valid Sprite Physics Shape and set transform/parenting before generation.
- Choose a profile, test it above a
Collider2Dfloor and compare recovery settings. - Confirm physical contacts or Trigger Mode match your gameplay.
- Assign the intended camera and input route for dragging.
- Save the whole generated hierarchy with the root.
- Profile representative scenes on the hardware you intend to support.
Guide and screenshot scope#
The original seven-page guide names Unity 6000.3.13f1 as its environment. This website adapts that guide and uses the separately supplied UI captures as visual references. A screenshot's values are examples; visible advanced fields do not establish behavior beyond the guide's descriptions.
The two downloadable scripts are complete examples extracted from that guide. The three supplied video links are additional resources; their playback and embedding availability have not been verified during this update. The web edition date records this website adaptation, not a new Unity validation run.
For further package-specific detail, consult its Documentation folder and validation notes, or download the original PDF.
