Checklist, FAQ & scope

Finish your scene, review common questions and understand version scope.

English guideSource: Unity 6000.3.13f1 · URP 17.3.011 October 2026

Finish the first scene, preserve your own content and verify the actual target player.

First-scene checklist#

  1. Verify Unity/URP dependencies and a supported orthographic Base +Z camera. Resolve package Console errors.
  2. Create one Reflection Surface with an active manager. Place the plane at the waterline using positive orthogonal scale.
  3. Set Source Camera, Surface Size and Capture Region. Test one sprite in Planar with Visual Effects off.
  4. Choose object-layer and exact Renderer/sorting filters. Exclude decoration and other water outputs.
  5. Optionally assign an alpha shape, match aspect, inspect holes/edges and confirm the plane position.
  6. Apply a preset or individual effects. Compare opacity/tint, waves/ripples, blur/fade and edges at final camera scale.
  7. Apply/inspect quality values. Choose update/cache policy for actual motion and transparency ordering.
  8. Use explicit runtime surface references, pair event subscriptions, and refresh static content after scenery/light changes.
  9. Save Edit Mode scene/prefab/preset changes. Test disable/re-enable, mode changes, camera movement, sample layers and resizing.
  10. Build for the target device/API, inspect camera/UI output and profile frame time/resources. An Editor result is not a device test.

Your game owns movement, physics, camera follow, splash events, audio, save data and gameplay UI. Keep custom scenes/presets outside bundled folders for straightforward updates.

Common questions#

QuestionAnswer
Only side-scrollers?Compatible orthographic 2D composition is required. Adventure backgrounds, menus, decorative water and mirrors can use it.
Only rectangles?Sprite alpha supports circles, triangles, irregular outlines, holes and soft edges; the plane stays flat.
Can I exclude layers?Yes: Included minus Excluded, exact Renderer selection and sorting-layer restrictions.
Is this a texture pack?It is a rendering tool. Demonstration artwork can be replaced by your own content.
Does it include physics? No buoyancy, fluid simulation, collision waves or automatic splash-event ripples.
Can lights reflect?Compatible native 2D lighting appears in scene captures. Lightweight is unlit; cached lighting needs refresh.
Does a preset replace my scene? It copies reusable visual/performance values while retaining geometry and scene bindings.

Glossary#

TermMeaning
Plane / destinationFlat mirror line / displayed frame on the opposite side.
Capture / cacheRendered source image / retained image reused until refreshed.
Object layer / sorting layerCapture membership mask / renderer draw-order category.
PPU / texelPixels per world unit / one sampled texture pixel.
Alpha / presetTransparency for a silhouette / reusable ScriptableObject settings.

Version and verification scope#

This website adapts the supplied 11 October 2026 English guide, based on Unity 6000.3.13f1, URP 17.3.0 and Windows Editor D3D11. Those are inspected versions, not broad platform certification. The supplied 24 screenshots use example values, tooltips and intentional empty fields.

The source guide reports Global/Point Light 2D and scoped Windows Editor rendering checks. It does not claim player/mobile/device/API performance, long resource soaks, complex shadows/normal maps/masks/blend styles or rotated atlas integration checks passed. This website adds no runtime verification claims.

Unsupported configurations include perspective/tilted cameras, XR, camera stacks, screen-space UI reflection, arbitrary 3D mirrors and negative/nonorthogonal surface transforms. Hybrid has static/dynamic transparency composition limits; Lightweight has a restricted unlit sprite path. Alpha masks change silhouette rather than creating curved geometry.

Source material and maintenance#

The package root is Assets/ERAGANX/2D Water Reflection Pro/. The guide references Runtime Surfaces/Core/API/Effects/Rendering/ReflectionModes/Optimization/Presets, Editor setup/Inspectors/preset/Scene tools, and Samples scenes/prefabs/demo scripts/materials/artwork.

All 24 supplied screenshots and three branding images are included in these web chapters and the catalogue. Four complete C# scripts are available in Runtime C# examples, and the original 44-page English PDF remains downloadable.

To report an issue, use the latest support details on the product's Asset Store listing and include Unity/URP versions, target/API, mode, Diagnostics and a small reproducible scene.
