Settings is the main controller for global choices. Collapsing a section hides controls without disabling that section's features.
The six Settings sections#
| Section | Controls |
|---|---|
| Window & Interaction | Default Quick/Advanced editor and opening gesture. |
| Appearance & Profiles | Role profiles, ten Quick colors, font sizes and reusable styles. |
| Hierarchy Features | Activation, tree lines, collapse and optional global defaults. |
| Scene Navigation | Enable the compact bar and add scene bookmarks. |
| Components & Icons | Component Minimap, Icon package and imported images. |
| Data & Maintenance | Preset/configuration transfer and reserved right-side space. |
Enable styling and Documentation stay at the top. Scroll within Settings to reach controls below the visible area.
Choose your editing window#
Quick Window provides compact formatting, ten gradient colors, thirty Unity icons and row actions. Advanced Window adds detailed colors/fonts, icon browsing, saved styles, child backgrounds, counts and metadata.
Use the Quick arrow to open Advanced for the current targets without changing your default.
Choose your opening gesture#
| Gesture | Input |
|---|---|
| Alt Click | Default Alt + left click on an object row. |
| Alt Shift Click | Alt + Shift + left click. |
| Control Shift Click | Control/Command + Shift + left click, depending on platform. |
The row gesture leaves native foldout behavior intact. If another hierarchy extension consumes Alt-click, pick an alternative. Row styling is disabled in Play Mode.
